how it started

It all started with a point-and-shoot and a wild heart, wandering the streets of China in the mid-2000s. I was teaching English, craving adventure, and documenting it all. This is where the hunger to tell a story without explanation began.

A few years later, six months pregnant and aching to create again, I launched my photography business. What began in 2012 with weddings and love stories soon became something deeper.

Five years ago, everything shifted. A global shutdown. Just birthing my third baby. Unexpectedly becoming a single mom. A cross-state move. 
And with all of that newness and heartbreak, a new vision was born: to tell the stories of people building, imagining, and claiming their lives.

Paving their own paths. I saw people who had a story to tell, within the life they were building, within the brands they were creating. I saw me in so many of them.

Photography has always been more than a job. It’s my art medium.
It’s how I make sense of the world. How I connect.
And the people I get to work with? They are my inspiration.
Their energy, their honesty, their grit and tenderness—that’s what drives the work.
